The T's & C's

Galvelmore House is a place to relax and enjoy. Of course, it is also a place we love, and we hope you will too. Please look after this special place as your home for a couple of days. Below are a few things that will help you to help us:

  • Fire exits - Please familiarise yourself with their location on arrival.
  • Save energy - Please switch off anything you are not using such as lights and power sockets.
  • Bedding - We'll provide all your bedding and towels. Beds will be made up (ready to jump into) on arrival, please strip them when you leave and bring all landry down to the front foyer.
  • Ssshhh time, 10pm - Relax! You'll feel like you have the place to yourselves.  However, there are neighbours near by and our caretakers Nino & Neal live in the garden flat with their family.  Please make sure all the members of your group keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.
  • Damage, loss & theft - To keep Galvelmore looking lovely we'd appreciate you leave it as you found it.  Please let us know about any breakages or damage however it was caused.  We may ask for reasonable replacement costs and reserve the right to take payment to cover these from the card details you booked with.
  • Fires - Galvelmore has two open fireplaces and an outdoor fire pit available for you to use. Please do so carefully and use the fire guards provided.  We ask that you don't burn anything other than wood on the fire.  You can either bring your own wood or pre order some from us and we'll drop it off.
  • Keys - None of the bedrooms have keys. The front and back door key will be in the key box at the back door.  We'll email you the code a few days before arrival.
  • Check in - Access to the building is from 3pm
  • Check out - The house needs to be vaccated by 10:30am
  • Force majeure - We cannot accept responsibility or liability for any alterations, delay, cancellation or any other loss/damage cause by war, civil strife, terrorist action, industrial disputes, fire, sickness, bad weather, epidemics, acts of government or public authority, or any other event outwith our control.
  • Parties - Galvelmore House is in a family friendly neighbourhood.  Parties, including Hen and Stag do's are not permitted.  Any booking found to break this condition may be asked to leave with no refund.
  • Security - You are responsible for the security of the building during your stay; please ensure you lock all the doors when you go out.  Comrie Croft takes no responsibility for the theft of any personal belongings or damage caused if the building has been left unsecured.
  • Cleaning - We understand having a gathering sometimes causes a little mess!  Please tidy up after yourselves, leaving the place as you found it (following the checklist).  If we need to do any excessive cleaning following your departure, we will let you know for the charges.
  • Fireworks - Due to our location, and their effect on pets and wildlife, fireworks are not permitted.  This includes Chinese lanterns as they are not good for the environment.
  • Pets - Sorry, you'll need to leave your furry, and not so furry friends at home.  Galvelmore is a pet free environment.
  • Smoking - You'll probably be aware it is illegal to smoke inside in public places in the UK.  Please do not smoke outside the front of Galvelmore.  You can use the back garden for smoking but dispose of any rubbish appropriately.  The use of illegal substances will not be tolerated.
  • Maintenance - We reserve the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times to carry our repairs or maintenance.
  • Arrival/Departure - You can check in from 4pm, and check out is 10am

The money bit

Payment terms

Bookings made more than 8 weeks before arrival:

  • A 25% deposit is require to secure the booking along with credit card details (used as security).  The balance is due two months before your stay.

Bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival:

  • Full payment along with credit card details (used as security) is due on booking.

If we haven't recieved full payment withing a month of your stay, we reserve the right to cancel your booking with no refund.

Cancellation terms

We understand sometimes things happen and plans change.  If you need to cancel, please confirm this by email.  The terms are as follows:

  • 6 - 2 months - deposit withheld
  • Within 2 months - 100% of fee withheld
