Weekend break bed and breakfast and Mosaic course

A mosaic workshop focusing specifically on frost resistant outdoor mosaics, in anticipation of a glorious summer in the garden. This craft course uses such diverse materials as slate, plant pots and concrete along with stones, porcelain and glass to create stepping stones, bird baths or wall slates.

How to Mosaic your Garden
Mon to Fri 7th to 11th May 2012

During this course, you will learn more about the methods used to apply mosaic to a wider range of garden surfaces, such as walls and paths, tables and pots, and have the opportunity to tackle more ambitious projects.

Friday 21st (evening), Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th (morning) September 2012 And Monday 24th (evening), Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th September 2012

Search for fungi in the Crieff countryside, under bracken, in grass or on trees, at a beautiful time in autumnal Perthshire. Boletes, chanterelles, beefsteak fungus and Chicken of the woods can all be found in the area. Patrick Harding will teach you how to identify the mushrooms, and how to determine which ones are edible. David will provide a good fry-up with those picked.

Making Mosaics

Learn the techniques of cutting and nipping tiles and other ceramic items to create several pieces of mosaic art. This art holiday will give you the basic skills to create wall panels and mirror frames in the class and give you the courage to extend your skills once at home.
