Garden Mosaic Sculpture Course

Residential Long Weekend Mosaic Class

Thursday to Sunday, 1st to 4th March 2012

A long weekend, starting on the Thursday evening, where you will be creating the sculptural forms on which you will then mosaic. You will complete two pieces; teaching you two different techniques for creating the substrate. The first garden sculpture will be one which can stand in a flower bed or over a pond; the other will be one to hang from a tree.

On the Thursday evening, we will explore possible forms and designs for your sculptures, using a wide range of inspirational material. The first part of Friday will be taken up with making the two structures, which you will work on alternately (between drying stages) until Sunday lunchtime. The last afternoon will be spent grouting and polishing your sparkly garden sculptures!

This class will be challenging to those who have not made mosaics before, and so it is strongly recommended that you attend one of the two-day introductory Outdoor mosaic classes before attempting this one!

£290 per person, sharing a twin-bedded or double room, £335 per person, single occupancy

Prices include B&B accommodation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, a welcoming glass of wine on arrival at Galvelmore House with the opportunity to meet the other participants, light lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, tuition by Jan Kilpatrick of Wild Tiles and all materials. Please note that we do use the Garden Flat for accommodation; and so do not guarantee en-suite facilities.
