Throughout the house, the décor has been done with an artist's eye. Strong colours in the large Victorian rooms, dramatic curtains and soft furnishings set off the original prints and paintings. Katy is an avid reader and there are books at every turn, which you are welcome to borrow. Plants and souvenirs from their travels clutter the mantelpieces and bookshelves, giving Galvelmore House a lived in and loved feeling.

The Guests' Lounge
The B and B offers an atmospheric oak panelled lounge for guests relax in. David is more than happy to put a light to the fire, in the evening so that guests can read books or play any of the games or jigsaws form the cupboard.

The Dining Room
Sitting around the main table and discussing the meal from the night before or the plans for the day ahead, swapping tips with other guests or discussing the beauty of Scotland, the informality of dining at Galvelmore House is much appreciated by our guests.

The room is decorated in a strong red, with an eclectic selection of painting and prints, including a trio of prints that date back to Katy's brother's degree course. Music plays quietly in the background, sometimes Scottish folk music, sometimes World music, sometimes classical. Again a further selection of plants and books - including their cookery selection.

The bedrooms:
Combine comfort with style, - a haven to escape to. Weather permitting; flowers from the garden are picked for the bedrooms. All the bed rooms have televisions and tea or coffee making facilities.

Our Purple Room has a super-king bed, that can separate to be two twins and also a bed-settee, used as both our largest double room and our ‘family room’. Drummond Castle can be glimpsed through the trees. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower, smartly tiled in green.

Our twin-bedded 'Darjeeling' room looks out over the extensive garden, and has a wonderful window seat, at which many guests are seen to be reading in the late afternoon sunlight. The bathroom has a large shower space, with toilet and wash-hand basin.

The 'Yellow and Green' room combines homemaker America with Chinese style. The spacious bathroom has a large shower, toilet and basin. There is a window seat and small table allowing you to relax and write.
